My bridesmaids have all decided that they would pay for their dresses. However my fiance and I have no ideas if we should pay half the cost for the groomsmen tux or all.

Generally, the groomsmen cover the cost themselves. However, if you choose to pay for the bridesmaids, you are supposed to by courtesy offer to pay for the groomsmen as well. You are not supposed to show favoritism. In this case, since the bridesmaids are paying themselves, the groomsmen would pay themselves as well. It is general practice to also offer them an option to rent instead of buy though.

The groomsmen pay for the tuxes. It is normal for the bridesmaids to pay for their own dresses and you pick out the style that you want and the guys pay for their own tuxes. When I got married almost 2 years ago, my best man actually payed half the cost of my tux. Normally if you have six men in the wedding party then the groom and ring bearer(if you have one) get their tuxes free. A tux will only cost about $110.00 while dresses can cost hundreds so the guys get away cheap.

The groomsmen generally pay for their own tuxes. Sometimes the best man's tux is paid for by the bride and groom, and sometimes the groomsmens tuxes are paid for as their "thank you" gift. But, normally, the groomsmen (and ushers and ring bearer) pay their own.

If the bridesmaids are paying for their dresses, then the groomsmen should pay for their tux's as well. Most stores will let the groom have his for free as part of the package deal. congrats!

I wish it weren't so but the groomsmen always pay for their own tuxes. I have never heard different.
