You said you are "going to" this wedding. If you aren't the bride and not a bridesmaid, you don't have a strict dress code. Look for details in the invitation. Is it more formal? Is it an outdoors wedding?

After all, you don't wear a formal gown to a beach or garden wedding.

A 5:00 wedding tends to be formal though so any type of cocktail dress would be appropriate. Any website is going to have appropriate dresswear. Just go into a store though--you dont need to order off the internet. It's a prom season right now so go look at the sales on the prom dresses if you have to buy something new. Or something cocktail length like the "lil black dress." But I bet you have something in your closet.

For internet sites, I like

http://www.bodyc.com
http://www.threaddesign.com/
http://www.debshops.com/home/default.asp
http://www.chadwicks.com/Department.aspx?DeptId=14286&fromDeptID=8258
and don't forget ebay. Bridesmaids and prom dresses are unloaded a lot by people who graduate college and realize (like me) that they have over 10 formal gowns (between chorus gowns, sorority formals, and 4 proms--not to mention the number of semi formals)

But I'd seriously run into the local department stores and see whats on the sale racks. Plus they have all the new spring stuff out right now. Find out what kind of wedding it is b/c most of the new spring dresses would be fine.

I'd hit your local mall first, rather than trying to shop on the internet. You might find something on a clearance rack for pretty cheap. My daughter found her prom dress for $30!!! It's fairly simple, and would work for an evening wedding.

Just go to a Boston Store or Macy's. Plenty of stuff to choose from there and you don't have to order it. Show Penney's on line under special occasion dresses.

Just go to your net page and type in "gowns" in the search bar. You will get list after list of online shops.

Good luck
