So funny reading your question because when my husband was little, he tells me he used to get their dog to lick his cuts...his parents said it would help! He didn't come to any harm....although....lol!

I KNOW where that dog's tongue has been....so I wouldn't think it was a good idea!

Yea, I've heard the old tale that "a dog's mouth is cleaner than ours" but if you have a dog, you should know that's false.

For one, we don't sit around licking our crotch like they do, (I'm sure some people would if they could - yuck!) and a dog - well, mine - will eat anything! Cat poop, sticks, acorns, weeds, pens, crayons, etc. Consider how dog's say hi too. Who has your dog said hi to today? lol

No, I wouldn't do it if I were you. Mine would gladly lick my lotion off my legs, but I'd never let her lick my wounds, be it a papercut or a serious scrape. I don't like the idea of infections. lol

Go get a band-aid please.
;o)

I hate to admit this, but my little long-haired chihuahua gets really distressed if I am bleeding and don't let her "fix" it. If I cut myself or nick myself shaving my legs, she's right there. It's easier to let her have a look than trying to keep her away from it. Hasn't harmed either of us.

NO!!!!!!
A dog bite (puncture wound) is almost a guarenteed infection. What does that say about the condition of a dogs mouth.

No dog saliva is no substitute for antibiotic cream.

I would either put a leech on it or swim in shark-infested waters.
