Hi TT,
An amoire is a gentleman's closet, which is a closed space for hanging ties, belts, etc. Most also have drawers that can only be accessed after it is opened. Should you buy it, is dependant on whether you have 1) room for it and 2) a need for it. Most pieces of furniture like this are accessories, and they sell them seeperately, because most people don't have room for them in modern day bedrooms. Hope this helps

An armoire isnt necessary, but it does help if you have anything extra in your bedroom that you would like to conceal. It can either be used for extra storage of clothes and accessories, or used to house a tv, or even your computer! Once the doors are closed, the room is left looking clean, fresh, and free of eyesores or clutter.
However if you dont plan on having a tv or a computer in your room, or you have a large enough closet/dresser to hold all of your clothes, than an armoire simply isnt necessary.
