That is a tough one. Some families have children that can be so well behaved, but still people cringe upon seeing them all dressed up and eating with their families in a nice restaurant. Then there are the families who's children are 'elite' in their upbringing who are rude and loud and obnoxious cuz they think they can do what they want... those are the ones that upset me at nice places.
I know there are museums or historic places that have restrictions on children's ages ... and I think that it is acceptable to have restaurants as well, that have restrictions too. maybe 'hours' that are child free.... or sections.... of course, there are adults that can totally ruin a nice meal with their rude comments and behaviors as well.

I am a mother of two, and I agree with you. If I go to a restaurant, I ask for a table in the back or near other families because I know how it feels to want a night out "without" kids. (even though my kids are very well behaved)
I hope other moms would do the same.

Thank You! I totally Agree. I cant count how many meals I have had ruined by unruly children.
And how about having airlines, ar at least certain flights with no children allowed. The last flight I was on, the child behind me was consistently kicking my seat for 4 hours on a redeye, and the parents refused to do anyhting about it until the third time I asked.

I have a daughter who is very well behaved in public. I would be in favor of child free seating, but then that leaves us stuck sitting with the misbehaving kids when we deserve peace and quiet, too. I think that restaurants should kick people out if their kids are disruptive.

As a parent I am totally in favour of segregated seating areas. If I am without my kids, I want to dine in a peaceful and stress free environment. If I have my kids with me ( I do try to teach them how to behave in a restaurant) I feel happier knowing that we are in a place where child behaviour is expected that we will not be bothering anyone.

I'm a mom, and I totally agree. My son was always a perfect angel when he was small (no lie!), but with my daughter, there were a few times when she was smaller that I took her to the car early or took her for a walk while the rest of the family finished dinner, because I felt it was extremely rude to subject others to her antics. Many times I wish others would show the same courtesy!

I agree. I've been to more than one restaurant with my wife, for us to have some time away from our kids, only to have to put up with a table of someone else's screaming little monsters. I wish more restaurants had a kid free zone, or a no kids allowed policy. It's sad that so many parents have no control over their children, and are rude enough to think everyone should have to tolerate them.

Usually if I am being sat by a "family" with small children I will ask for a different area. I dont like being around children.
I think it would be great if someone started opening adults only places like, movie theaters, restaurants, shopping centers.
I cant stand screaming kids throwing fits.

I'd like to see it! My 6 year-old daughter is pretty well-behaved, but I don't take her to anyplace that's basically for adult-she gets bored, plus if they don't serve chicken nuggets she's not happy!
