I have been a McMurray fan ever since he won for Sterling Marlin. Everytime I tell someone who i go for, they laugh and i catch...well you know.... from them. It doesn't bother me because I think that he is great. Just wondering if anyone shared my feelings about how great he is?

I'm right there with you, original poster! I originallly chose to cheer for Jamie at the start of 2003 because, well, he was easy on the eyes (since then I've grown to appreciate much more than his looks) but I knew nothing about Nascar, and my whole family was into it so I thought I'd give it a chance. I've stuck with Jamie faithfully since and as you expained, it ain't easy! I'm surrounded by Dale Jr. fans and they just roll their eyes at my Jamie attire. But hey, so far Jamie and Dale Jr. have the same number of points this season, so maybe things are looking up. Yeah, the season is still young, but two top ten's and a top 15, I'll take that anyday over what we had last season. And at Daytona he was in the top 5 before getting wrecked with maybe 5 laps to go. So, we'll keep our fingers crossed and see what happens. Some people may just be surprised by the 26 team this year. But to answer the real question, Yeah I love Jamie McMurray! and yes I take heat for it all the time, but I figure it teaches me persistence and dedication. It's easy to cheer for Dale Jr. or Tony Stewart, but try being a McMurray fan, now that takes ... dedication!

Yeah i like jamie. My 2 favorite drivers are kenseth and jamie. I was glad to see jamie come to roush so i can pull for 2 fusions. Jamie is getting better but i just don't think he is that great of a driver. I could be wrong. All the roush guys are doing good except for jamie. Kenseth won a championship, and you had 5 roush guys in the chase for the cup a couple years ago, so roush is a great team, so McMurray really has no excuses. But he has been running better this year than ever before so maybe there is a light at the end of the tunnel

I like him. He's not my favorite, but falls about 6th or 7th on my list! I get harrased a bit when I where my Jamie shirt to bowling. I always tell them to wait and he will be WAY better soon. Roush has been struggling as a whole for the last year, not just Jamie. I hate when people talk about him getting fired and stuff. At the end of the year last year all you heard about was how McMurray, Stremme, and Yeley were all going to be out of their rides before the end of 07. I am glad all three drivers are trying to prove them wrong!! I love that he is doing so much better this year!!

I think that he's great but right now he's only remembered for winning in his second start and basically he has not won anymore. Sometimes for me, it's a tough question of why McMurray Can't Compete? McMurray sometimes fails to let the crew chief do his duty and try to make the pit calls himself something that plagued Rusty Walace. If he could remedy that situation. I'd like him a little better.

I think he has alot of talent coming from a small town in all and making it all the way to the big leagues and struggling and his family struggling and everything and hes really talented but he needs to get out of Rousch as they aren't doing a thing for him and hes not running very well. Did you all hear that Rousch has to cut it down to 4 drivers by 2010 and that means the end of 2009 they are going to get rid of a driver at the last possible second I bet and I bet it will be Jamie as he isn't doing much but alot can change in 2 1/2 years.

He's all right (being a Roush driver now), but my mom loves him. She grew up in Sterling Marlin's hometown and when Jamie won in the #40 car, that's what did it for her. I think he's a good driver but has had rotten luck...he's due for another win this year.

I hate to sound like everybody else, but, he's okay.
It seems his move to Roush might not have been the
best for him. Roush is a great team, but maybe not
the best fit for McMurray. Seems to me he is having
a hard time adjusting. Though he finally did get
another top 10 at Bristol. Perhaps he's getting better.

Yes, I am actually a big McMurray supporter...it's nice to know that I am not the only one. I do miss him being in the Texaco Havoline car though...oh well. Go 26!

I've a question for you: What makes him so great? It is now obvious that that win was a fluke. He has some of the best equipment now with Roush and he is struggling to finish in the top 20. I think he is a complete disappointment and won't be with Roush much longer. Oh, and go TONY!!!
