I am wanting to to a presentation at my college for my speech on how to make banana pudding. I only have 8-10 minutes so I have to bring my fresh bananas already sliced. But is there any way that I can keep them from browning from the time I cut them to the time I get there? I want them to look pretty :)

How to stop bananas from browning?
When we include sliced bananas in desserts, they tend to turn brown very quickly. And the riper the banana, the faster it will seems to turn brown. So if you need attractive slices of banana for your desserts, choose those that are not too ripe and always use a stainless steel knife to cut them. When decorating a dessert or gateau, simply brush the banana slices with freshly squeezed lemon juice. Do not dip them in a bowl of lemon juice as this can make them slimy.

However, if you are mashing bananas, turning those slices in a bowl of lemon juice first not only keeps the flesh white but also encourages the slices to soften into a creamy paste. This would make the job of mashing easier.

You can coat them in lemon juice or pinapple juice (my favorite) The pineapple juice has a little bit less of an acidic taste to it and keeps your banana's perfect!

Dip in lemon juice, orange juice, or any other citrus. The ascorbic acid preserves it. You can also use processed ascorbic acid such as Fruit Fresh.

Try dousing them in lemon juice. That will prevent browning.

Lemon juice. Works just like it does on apples and avocados. It doesn't take much and you won't have "lemon-flavored" bananas.
