She may feel bad if you told her...do what i did and slip an anonymous note on her desk, very politely stating that she should please see to her problem. That way she wont loathe you for embarasing her. There is no easy way to say it..especially where bad breathe is concerned..

It might be that she is nervous. When people are nervous they sometimes get a dry mouth which can give you bad breath. Maybe before lesson ask if she wants to nip to the vending machine with you and get a drink. This obviously isnt something you can do every lesson unless there is a free water cooler. Maybe if you offer her gum or mints often she will get the hint? You could just get one pack of mints and eat like one or two and save some for another lesson (this is if they are indvidually wrapped like foxs mints). A big bag of foxs mints cost just over a pound and could last you ages. Maybe you could get some of them teeth cleaning things as a one off and talk about how great they are too her. Just say sometimes I get paranoide I have bad breath so I like to use them (also this is a very suttle hint cause I find if someone say they have bad breath I check mine). If none of these seem to work maybe find a third party to tell her in a nice way or you will have to take a deep breath and tell her politely herself. Just saying something like your a really great person but sometimes I think you must have a bit of a dry mouth cause there is a funny smell. Im sure you could find a few better words than me though. Good luck

If you consider yourself to be a true friend you would tell her exactly how you feel, I was in a similar situation with a friend and I told straight that she has bad breath. She stopped talking to me for ages, and then one day got chatting to me again minus the bad breath, she even thanked me for being honest. Apparently the cause of her problem was an infection, which was cleared up with anti-biotics. Honesty is the best policy. Good Luck !!!!

You can't tell her without offending her, so I'd lie.
Something like excuse me but i couldn't help be worried about... because my friend/parent/someone had really bad breath and when they went to the dentist they had really bad gum disease/lots of rotten teeth and it cost them a fortune to fix/was excruciatingly painful etc
Adapt as need be. My point is come at it from a concerned friend angle.
You probably should be actually cause bad breath is one of the signs that something is wrong in the mouth.
Good luck.

Ask her if she for instance ate garlic or something of that nature , last night, if she says no why?, Tell her cause your breath is a bit ranked. And then offer her some mints or some gum that kills bad breath.

I would, as others have suggested, gently tell her. Maybe she has a disease problem and can not help it, perhaps she needs a lesson in oral hygene. In any case, a kind word may hurt her a little, but it would be better to tell her as a friend rather than to have someone be mean about it.

It may embarrass her but i wouldn't hurt to let her know and carry mints with you, offer her one while you are taking one. If she Say's "no thank you" then simply tell her that she really needs to because she has bad breath. I would want to know if my breath was bad. wouldn't you?

no need to be cruel. just ask her if she ate an onion bagel for breakfast. this way she will try to brush her fangs before coming to class. OR offer her some gum this way she will have long lasting fresh breath. I mean if she is your friend it wouldnt kill you to shell out 25 cents for a pack of gum.

Ask her what toothpaste she uses and when she tells you say "oh right i've heard that gives people really bad breath?" And just leave it at that. If someone said that to me i'd get the message!
