my girlfriend seems not to care about herself and basically made herself a target for her older immature boyfriend. she learns that he has been cheating on her with another woman. while they were fighting he chokes her and slaps her. she still loves him and doesnt want to end it, though he has told her that there is no him and her and when she tells him that she wants to date other people since he feels that way, he's upset and doesnt want her to be involved with anyone and that he wants to work it out. is she wasting her time in a bad relationship or should she work it out if she loves being upset, pissed and hurt?

Wow! What a mixed-up relationship! Your friend needs to:

A) End that abusive (mentally and physically) relationship ASAP and

B) Get counseling so she can discover
what causes her to be involved in such a negative situation. And, continued support so she doesn't slip back into that or any other similar relationship.

You sound like a good, caring friend whom she'll need to get through this.

She needs to get out before it's too late and if she doesn't that's where you as a friend need to jump in. Abusive relationships start out small it just gets worse over time~sometimes guys forget how strong they are and well you get the picture. If you catch him you need to call the cops, your friend might be a little heated for you doing so but later on she will really appreciate it. Tell her whats up,,,maybe just find her someone else to go out on date with.

not all older men are that way,
she needs to get away from this abuser and get a PFA and make out a police report and find herself a man that knows how to treat a lady with respect and kindness, not as a punching bag

I think it's better for her to leave him instead of being attached to him like a fool .Why does she need him anyway, let her move on with her life. What I mean is dump that big loser and find another guy.

your friend needs to make a complete break from this man older or not. it will be hard but worth it in the long run. she will end up a victim of domestic violence if she stays with him.

I would hope that she's not that masochistic, and she walks away from this guy. He sounds like a loser. Tell her to drop the zero, and find a hero.
