If they are naturally so thin and are banned then they should pick another career instead of being models. Becoming a model is not everything.

I think that a size 10 is a lot smaller in Spain, remember that their sizes run a lot differently. Second of all, there's nothing wrong with being naturally thin and I'm sure they can get work elsewhere if they need to. Overall I think the ban is a fantastic movement, it is encouraging a healthy lifestyle and working toward empowering and improving womens' self images everywhere. If you look at the photo below I'm sure you will notice how sickly and abnormally thin this woman is. When was the last time you saw someone that thin walking around? It's not normal and not healthy. The article is really good too.

They are not banning a size 10 and below are they? A size 10 is not too thin at all, it can be chubby for some. I think it's a good idea to ban women who are too far underweight. To everyone who is talking about some people are naturally thin I say that there is not a large popluation of underweight women in this world, and if they are it is not genetics. They are not going to expect all models to be a size 10 or above but they are asking them to be close to expected BMI for their height. It's for all of the girls who are dying to be a kind of thin that is unattainable without harming themselves.

Very few are born too thin. And too thin people are unattractive so why make them appear to be the norm?

Spain is finally doing what needs to be done so that society, and particularly women, become acquainted to the size women really are and SHOULD be for health reasons. There are too many girls out there establishing eating disorders thanks to the unrealistic expectations put out by the modeling industry and Hollywood.

Vive la Spain!!!

It's about time. People want to go off about the negative influence of say, barbie dolls, but what about skinny models? The vast majority of people do not look like that and by setting it up so someone should see that as the epitome of beauty and something to live up to isn't that far more damaging? Most people aren't naturally that thin. If you're eating the amount you should be and taking care of yourself you won't ever be that thin. I only ever knew one person in my life like that who was size 2 and she wasn't naturally thin, according to her doctor she was underweight. If thats naturally thin please let me never be that!
