Ask him.

Maybe he thinks you don't respect his own values. Somewhere in here you two arent seeing eye to eye. The things you two commonly fight over are what makes him think twice when he's with you. Try to talk things out and show him that you are serious. Even so if this is who you are amybe he should deal with it. Always be yourself. If he's older then you than he's sees you as immature and you need to show him that you are a up or above his level. Hope this helps!!

Basically he's saying, grow up.

Alot of people (especially men) thinking being an adult is about being serious and aloofness. Inquire further what he means, he should be able to tell you. But ultimately thats what it means.

Dont confuse, serious with successful. Im as goofy as they come, wear sneakers & jeans 24-7...and tshirts with crazy sayings on them. BUT I also am an engineer, landlord, business owner. I am as successful as I am silly.

But usually guys start wanting an aloof "Barbie doll" type to impress their friends. Silly "Girl next door" only gets you but so far. Its up to you to decide if he's worth the change. But also be forewarned, men dont readily respect women who change "on a fly" for them either. Defend yourself... hell tell him, "I'll get serious when you put a ring on my finger". LOL

Thats what I would have said. Give 'em alittle Sass and Flash! Ive been engaged 4times, so I know how to play the game. But seriously...ask HIM what the hell he means. Stand up for yourself.

He's probably trying to tell you to be more mature and act grown up, or if he is telling you that he love you and mean it and you just wanna joke with him he probably wants wants you to take him seriously and be serious with him about how you feel.If you still wanna know what he means after reading this you should probably ask him.

Sounds like he doesn't feel your really listening or being concerned, especially when he has a deep problem or issue to deal with that he is trusting you to help him with. Maybe your reacting like it doesn't matter to you, or that it isn't important to you, and this is bothering him.
Or when you answer him, you reply in some type of manner that is not appropiate for the given situation.

It means you need to be more serious. I'll never figure out how women don't understand men.

Maybe he means that he'd like you to take your relationship more serious instead of treating everything like one big joke.
And maybe if you ever have arguments, try being serious and sorting it out instead of laughing about it or just forgetting about it.

Does he mean to be more serious about your relationship with him?

It can probably mean that he thinks you joke around too often or he feels that maybe you don't take HIM seriously enough. I'd sit and talk with him and find out EXACTLY what he means.
