i say, if your kid gives you this much trouble, than belt him. show him what a real swollen face feels like.

yes it is. my son had a bit of swelling. the tooth is trying to push its way up out of the gum. if it is uncomfortable for him put an ice pack on it for a while, give him motrin or tylenol if it is bothering him. try ambesol or something to numb his gum if it is hurting him. the swelling usually doesnt last long. if it swells a lot or if you are concerned, call his dentist.

yes. a little swelling is normal. it doesn't happen to everyone but it can happen. if it's painful, try ibuprofin. it will help with the pain and swelling.
