Why did your relative sponsor you if you can not stand on your own two feet. I respect anyone that comes to the United States to seek what every American has, but you need to do it on your own. IF you don't have a profession or a job, you need to get one, and pay the taxes that all US citizens pay. If this is impossible for you to do, then your relative needs to cancel their sponsorship and ship you back. The United States has enough of their own that truly need benefits, and it is the likes of illegals and non citizens that make it difficult for the truly needy to get help.

because the contract is for 10 years
my cousin had sponsor her husband family and they all went on welfare and food stamps her paychecks were garnish & the gov has taken all her incomtax return for the last 9 years
this year will be her last year for paying them and she was not allowed to sponcer anyone else because the contract that is sign stated that the sponsored is suppose to take of that person (now we all knwo that is not possible the person has to be the one that take care of him/herself once arrive in the country)
also remember that not all state obey the imigration laws

I understand some states are following through and billing the sponsors for health care, etc. so it is possible. I think most states don't sufficiently have their act together, yet.

First of all, why aren't you in your own country mooching? Second, no one pays back Food Stamps although you shouldn't of been given them anyway when you aren't a citizen
