You are correct to recognize the problem here. Christians prefer to pretend this problem isn't there.
Christians think by stating their god is timeless that this addresses the problem. It does not. The issue is not time, but one of complexity. The more complex a system is the more unlikely the possibility of that state just existing without exterior context. If a system has one bit the odds are one half. If a system has two bits of complexity the odds are one fourth etc .
Christians claim a god with infinite complexity and no external context. The odds for this are essentially zero.
By external context, one means the system is part of a greater system which provides context for it's state. Usually in the form of a selection effect, but it could also be an evolutionary mechanism or designer. But Christians claim their God, was neither designed, evolved nor was part of a greater whole.
The only possible answer to this conundrum of how reality exists, it seems to me is that reality as a whole is not complex but simple. Since the part of reality we see seems complex, it must have external context. The likely reason then for the observable complexity is a huge selection effect: ( Our own existence ). Only in locally complex regions within the simple whole can beings such as ourselves evolve.
Now having concluded reality as a whole is simple, meaning it has few if any alternative states. What can we conclude.
1. Reality as a whole is infinite and varied. ( Finite large systems cannot be simple ).
2. Reality as a whole is necessary. It has no exterior context to provide an external reason for it to be.
The only thing I am currently aware of which is infinite, varied, necessary and profoundly simple ( no alternative states ), is Mathematics. By Mathematics I simply mean necessary tautological truth. If nature is simply Mathematics then this question is solved.

Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Children have faith, and are often used as examples of faith:
LUKE 18:17 "Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it."
Children believe. We may not understand how it is that God works faith in children, except that we know that God’s Word has great power, and that "faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God", so children, even before birth, have opportunity to hear the Word of God, and for the Holy Spirit to work faith in their hearts.
I'm sorry if you don't like the answer, but you must come to faith as a child. Or not at all. It's a choice we all have had to make. That Faith, my friend - is a gift from God. Ask Him for it today. But gifts do us no good unless you accept them.

It's called faith. Our finite mind thinks in the finite. So we assume everything had a beginning (and ultimately everything has an end). This is not necessarily so. God is eternal, without creator, without beginnning or end. We cannot prove or disprove that.
You have the same problems accepting a universe without God. Where did it come from, what is it expanding into, what was there before...
These you have already taken on faith.

Read and study and meditate on the bible, the Word of God. That is what we have right now to help us get to know God. We also have everything around us. How can you look in a mirror and not realize that you were created by the wonderful way that you are made. Look at your hand and the fact that it is the best tool ever invented! It really does everything that we could ever need it to do. Look at your eyes! Then look at around at how they see. We see dimensional, we see in color, we see and then our brains are made to appreciate what we see, like beauty, we can see humor when we look at something funny. The Apostle Paul, under inspiration by God's holy spirit said this:
Romans 1:20: "For his invisible [qualities] are clearly seen from the world’s creation onward, because they are perceived by the things made, even his eternal power and Godship, so that they are inexcusable; "
So really when you say you want to have faith, but you can't with out proof, you are really just using an excuse. You will not find the proof you are looking for by trying to answer unanswerable questions in this system of things. You must do your homework, read God's Word, pray for understanding. The Bible is like a loving letter from our Creator to us, so that we can get to know God and his Son, and that is the only way right now. If you wait for proof, I am afraid that you will find that you waited too long!
John 17:3; "This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ."

You have excepted alot of things in life that cant be explained. Animals and there reproductive organs. Humans and how we are made up. The stars and plants and how they are at the right place. I cannot tell you how God always was. He has no beginning, and he has no end as well. We take things on faith.

When you ask us to leave faith out of the picture, then we can't answer. God wants our trust and some things He lets us understand now, some we'll know after we're with Him, so I can't really answer this question the way you want it answered. I decided to answer it with something I've heard more than once from people who were in the same predicament that you are in. I've heard two or three people say that they just said to God, If you are really real, then prove it to me. Then God, himself proved it to them. Maybe that's what you need to do.

You're applying human logic to a being who exceeds our total understanding. Instead of insisting that you should be able to comprehend all aspects of God, focus on the things about Him you CAN understand: His nature, commandments, expectations, prophesies, etc.
Case in point: can you fully comprehend the fact that outer space literally has no end? Probably not, yet it doesn't keep you from believing that space exists.

Nobody on here will be able to answer your question....well with a real answer anyway. They won't be able to prove to you with real hard proof that god exists.
I understand your frustration though. I've been there myself. All I can tell you is that you either find him (or just believe) for yourself, or you don't. I know that probably doesn't help you out, but that's really the way it is.

You must. You must believe and have faith, you are not alone in this struggle to trying and understand something that you do not have all the answers to. Pray for the answers that you seek and the wisdom. To somethings there is not always a beginning and an end. I feel for you in your struggle. I will pray that you find some guidance in your seeking to know and understand.

part of being Christian is having loads of questions! maybe God is something different to everyone. but faith is having a belief in something you have no physical proof of. no one is going to give you a answer that will satisfy your curiosity. i learnt that God is the Word. which opens up a whole new line of questions. however, i choose to have faith regardless. i hope you find what you are lookign for...
