I commend them for trying to break out of that 'bony is beautiful' way of thinking. I hope they're doing it out of concern for all the young women who'd otherwise grow up feeling inadequate because they cannot achieve that concentration camp body.

Of course, since they are trying to sell something, I suspect they may have other reasons. If you design clothes that only look good on a size 2 woman, you're not going to sell a whole lot of clothes. I'm not over-weight, but I can't wear the stuff I see runway models wearing. Ribs and bony shoulders are supposed to be the highlight of a backless gown with a v-neck that plunges below your waist. Not boobs. If average sized women could attend designer openings, because they'd look great in the clothes, the market will open right up.

Still, I think it's a good thing. The market's certainly there I imagine more designer will want a cut. We'll start to see ads in "Vogue" and "Elle". A lot of women, and especially young girls, could see how great they can look at their natural, healthy weights. A few men may even learn to except women the way they're supposed to be. Certainly doesn't sound like something that causes depression. We might see a reduction in the numbers of young girls with eating disorders.

i think its a great idea that the country us uniting as a whole against this weight bsttle. Im not saying some women arent a size 2 but most women arent! The older you get the slower your metabolism gets. Its hard to maintain a steady weight and sometimes people let themselves go. ITs good to knnow that a country unifies and identifies with this problem. It is saying "its ok because your NORMAL not FAT" It makes people look up and not feel bad about not squeezing into a size 2. Also feeling good about eating somethign and not starving urself or purging to conform. I think spain is a role model and other countries should embrace this as well.

I don't think it is fair I am a size 8 and I have never dieted. Some people are just thinner then others. Its not fair on the naturally thin girls but the girls who are size 4 and 6 should be banned.

It's a wonderful idea. Women today are bigger b/c we have a variety of foods & we get more nutriants. I think the modeling industry needs to evolve with the changes in order to meet society's requirements.

No normal, average woman [or most normal male for that matter] likes looking at a girl that has her bones popping out.

It's about time. People want to go off about the negative influence of say, barbie dolls, but what about skinny models? The vast majority of people do not look like that and by setting it up so someone should see that as the epitome of beauty and something to live up to isn't that far more damaging?

Good for them, hope it make it across the world. I don't like see all these women who are toothpicks. It's unnatural and unhealthy. Finally maybe we can see other women in clothes that will actually look good on some one of "normal" size. Bravo to them for seeing the bigger picture.

I think it's good. Women are killing themselves trying to get into small sizes. We don't need to be size 2 or 0.
