If the swelling and pain is gone then so is the sting. It wouldn't have healed if the sting was still there.

I would suggest next time you take an antihistamine and then promptly take the stinger out. The purpose of taking the stinger out is so that no more of the toxin gets into your system. At this point I would say that the stinger is probably dry but you might as well remove it so that you don't get an infection from having some critter's pointy butt thing sitting under your skin. Makes sense no?

Mix together a bit of Vinegar and baking soda in a small dish. Mix until slightly pasty. Use a paper towel, dab in paste and set on sting for about 15 mins, Rinse and redo.

I've never taken the sting out of a bee sting - I reckon if it's not hurting then the sting has fallen out of it's own accord. It would be enflamed otherwise, right?

If you are able to get the stinger out, fine. If not and you are not having any difficulty, don't worry about it. If you can't see it and dig around for it, you'll only cause additional problems. Also contrary to common belief, not all insects leave their stingers behind--most bees do, some wasps and hornets do not.

You might have already lost the stig. The worst that'll happen is that it'll get infected, like a sliver. All you have to do is try lightly scratch at it when you find it. That should take it out.
