Women are a lot more concerned with how they will be treated than men are, a man knows that no woman can push him around, or make him do things he doesn't want to do or physically abuse him. They can of course, but for most men its very far from a daily concern. So if a man takes a wife, he's more concerned with dinner and sex and her competency in her keeping him happy and not asking much of him. A woman knows she bears an unfair burden regarding children, support, housework, and toss in some guy with third world sensibilities towards women in general, and a woman is going to run. If we wanted that kind of man there are plenty of them here, which is why we say there are few good men left.
