As a muslim myself i have to say that the koran is not divine in anyway. Its a very human book frozen in the 7th century desert of arabia and serves no purpose for our time. the only purpose it serves is as a guide to oppress women, kill non muslims and encourage muslims to commit all kinds of crime including paedophilia by emulating the prophet mohomed.
what do you think of her cooments?

If you do not believe that the Quran is divine then you should stop calling yourself a muslim or pretend being one.

This is what I think of Hirsi Ali:

She was proven to have lied about her background to get in to the Netherlands, as a result she had to forgo her Dutch nationality and leave the country. She also used the anti-Islam feeling in the country to further her own political agenda by bashing Islam to gain popularity (perhaps you're trying to borrow a page from her book). Her political antics brought down the previous Dutch government as it was stuck with the fallout of stripping her of her nationality. So i don't think very highly of her.

Islam-bashing is very popular these days and those that do it get all the media attention. Muslims do not have a voice that can be heard or is purposely ignored. Doesn't say much for global media as it only increases the feeling of hostility and bias that Muslims feel.

Sister (and I use this term VERY loosely),

First.. Actually read the Qu'ran. It does not tell Muslims to commit all sorts of crime, kill non-muslims (WHEN NOT PREVOKED OR ATTACKED), or encourage Pedophillia. If anything, the Holy words of God Allmighty says that the pagan Arab practice of burying alive non male babies is a sure path to hell!

Islam in its true form is a religion of peace, coexsistance, and love of fellow man. It is just sad that in this country, and world for that matter, the media and pundits choose to focus on the extreme minority.

Oh, and learn how to spell! OUT!

Hamed!

Also... The word "Infidel" does not appear ONCE in the Holy Qu'ran! The Arabic word refered to is "Kafir", and it means "Non-believer". You must keep the context of the book and "kafir" refered to in mind. The Qu'ran is refering to at the time the struggle the Prophet (PBUH!) was having with the opressing pagan arabs, the Quraish. It is these Quraish that the angel Gabiel tells the Prophet (PBUH!) to have his believers lay in wait for and kill, BUT ONLY WHEN PROVOKED OR ATTACKED! The Qu'ran is EXPLICIT on that subject. OUT!

I think she is a vary brave lady, and it's about time someone comes forth and starts telling the truth about the Islamic religion, the world has always known that the Islamic religion was a mythical violent religion drummed up by a perverted fraudulent prophet, to many desert mirages have warped the minds of middle east people because they see things that simply are not there, the so called prophet Muhammad's a perfect example of that, and this lady Aryan hirsi Ali is simply telling the world where the real infidels come from, and to be aware that Satan himself rises out of the sands of the middle east.

Where does the "proud muslimah" part come into all this? I'm reading her book now and she blames culture quite alot on much of the negative aspects of what people perceive Islam to be these days. Your question seems more in line with someone that wants to inflame rather than debate....
