how do i input chinese characters into MS word using the microsoft win xp language bar?

i set the language bar to chinese(simplified). However i'm not able to write chinese characters. Thanks for the help!!

This requires a download of Chinese characters (fonts)

After you set the language bar from EN to CH, try to type hanyu pinyin letters onto MS word.
