Natural gas is the typical choice. But I like the idea of the following system. You install a solar system to supplement your electrical system. Install a Geothermal heat pump system to heat and cool your house. The solar can run the electrical side of your heating/cooling system.

Solar power is the 'green' way to go, but you may need a backup of somekind for those rainy/snowy days. Maybe natural gas as a back up, it burns cleaner than wood (and saves a few trees which are so beautiful to look at).

All fossil fuels are good because Mother nature recycles these. When the plants through photosynthesis recycle our air that is the first step in recycling of fossil fuels.

we use a wood burner.... its the best way to save MONEY! its hard work, cutting the wood, stacking and burning, but its worth the money we save.
