This is WIDELY debated here on Yahoo! Answers.
Eggs that are kept in the cartons under refrigeration will be just fine for boiling three to four weeks AFTER the stamped date.
Let me be clear. There has NEVER been a case of salmonella from eating raw eggs in the home. NEVER. All cases have been outside the home, in restaurants and the like.
Having said that, your eggs are past it.
When you're storing eggs, put them on a shelf in the fridge in their carton with the date facing out. Then you always have a quick reference for how old they are.

I need to agree with Tom in part here. Have the eggs in the carton. DO NOT put them in that cute little egg holder in the door. Place them on a middle shelf, near the back with expiration date where you can see it. I have eaten eggs that were 2 months past expiration with no problems.

I took home ec, but that was years ago lol
It's safest to crack them open...the whites tend to this out when they get old. One way to determine their freshness prior to cracking them is to place the eggs in a bowl of water. The safe ones will sink to the bottom and lie on their sides. The bad ones will stand up or even float. I have been told that people have used eggs weeks and/or months after the printed expiration date, as long as they have been refrigerated properly.
"A true friend is one that thinks you're a good egg, even though he knows you are slightly cracked" ;-)

a few months is too much. If you kept the eggs in the fridge, then they may still be ok say 2 weeks after the expiration date. If you kept them in the cupboard or room temperature, then perhaps you can only consume them 1 week after the expiration. A few months is definitely too long!
Buy a few new good ones, and compare by cracking oneo f the good one open and the suspicious one open.
Or boil both the good ones and the suspicious ones. I think they are supposed to float differently.

Eggs will last longer than the expiration date, but it depends on how much air they were exposed to...but really! is it worth sitting on a toilet for 3 days...

Umm, No I would not make hard boiled eggs if they are a couple of months old! Crack one open, if its ruined then you will know they all are. Just throw them away and buy new eggs, they only cost like a a dollar.

I heard a report on tv that said if refridgerated up to two weeks past the date 3 months wouldn't chance that eggs are about a buck a dozen.
