After you blast 'em in the head? I hate waiting for them to stop floppin' around. I've picked them up and walked 20 paces and had them start flopping again. Da heck?! That many posthumous reflexes?

I’ve had them cover 20 feet of ground flopping around.
I don’t ever remember ever having one drop clean with out flopping.
They may hit the ground and not move for a moment or two, but you might as well hold up it’s going to start soon and last for a bit.
When you short out that brain, they just go totally nuts.
The first one I was 15 and he flopped over a 5 strand barb wire fence and in 34 years I don’t recall even one that failed to do it.

They always seem to flop. I dont think it has anything to do with how good you cream them in the head they are still going to flop. Reminds me when I was a kid going to Grandmas house and butchering chickens. Ever hear the saying,"runnin' around like a chicken with its head looped off."

Run over and put your foot on the neck. This cuts off any breathing and holds them down so they don't try to get up and run. Its the humane thing to do.

i dont personly hunt turky, but i would agree with H, take out the neck, not the head, sever the spinal cord and it will drop, same thing with any game, take out the neck, no major twitching becasue eaven thought the brain is still fireting, there is nothing reciving the commands.

One time. My .223 bullet broke the neck n skimmed the spine. It was 'dead-right-there.'
