IGNORANCE is bliss. i think non-believers (in anything for that matter not necessarily just God) and cynical! Dont let them get you down! Christians have found peace within themselves! non believers are just jealous of that!!

Of all the religions in this world that can complain of oppression and discrimination, Christianity is the LEAST able to make this argument with a straight face. Christians have not been persecuted or discriminated against since their earliest history.

You ask "What did we ever do to you guise (non-believers?" It would take too long to list all of the intrigues, persecutions, and horrors perpetrated by Christians (specifically the Church) over the years. Let's just start out with the Spanish Inquisition, the Crusades, and witch hunts.

My personal problem is the proselytizing - I have a religion, thank you very much, I don't want you to cram yours down my throat.

EDT: ok, apparently this question was directed at some specific stuff that has been going on in this section of Yahoo Answers. This i the first time I have been to this area.

You are doing something know and feeding the fire by calling people non-believers.

It is not up to you to judge others or put them out there. It is spoken of in the bible that everyone knows and will seek out God a some point and it is up to them when they choose to do so.

If we are true Christians then we just answer and ask the right questions and set the example and follow the promptings of the holy ghost to help us bring others or the ones who have been prepared by God for conversion to a Christian.

The ones who spew hatred and extreme anger have deep rooted problems. Maybe they have perceived an over strict Parent, Grandparent , Aunt, Uncle as a reason to hate Christians. Maybe they went to church as a child and heard one hell fire and damnation sermon & they felt guilty and then became angrey at all christian for this. No other sermon has been remembered. They are trapped in that stuburn child frame of mind. This are my thoughts and not a proven therory.

Nothing against Christians in generals. I have a problem with the specific Christians who don't understand what the word "literal" means, and think that everything in the Bible is "literal" (revealing that they either have no concept of the term "literal" vs "figurative" or simply haven't read the book they revere). I also have a problem with Christians who appear to "worship" the Bible, as if it is God and not merely the inspired words of God. I also have a problem with Christians who say "god hates fags" and who judge the sodomy of other while orally/anally copulating with their wives. I also have a problem with Christians who smugly claim to be able to judge the habits of others while getting divorces and using contraceptives. I also have a problem with Christians who smugly claim that Catholics are not Christians and that only their small denomination has it right. I also have a problem with Christians who claim this country was "founded upon" Christianity, when it clearly wasn't and that we need to "bring back prayer in schools."

However, with Christians that follow Christ's teachings, I have no issue.

Are you serious? How about the years of persecution, the hanging of heretics, the burning of 'witches', torturing people until they confessed they were possessed by demons.

Every day I am looked down on by Christians because I do not believe in god.

I have had girls break up with me because they couldn't date a guy that won't be in heaven with them.

I've been harassed at work by people telling me that I NEED to go to church and that they want to save me.

People think I can't be trusted because I apparently have no morals... as if you need religion to be a good person.

Not to mention, a lot of Christians can't even practice what they preach... why would I follow a religion full of hypocrites?

Christianity as with most religions is completely outdated. There seems to be some religious ideology that deep down, science is evil. When you start disagreeing with proven facts just because it doesn't fit in with what the bible says, then you have serious issues.

I am willing to bet my eternal soul that every single one of you self proclaimed Christians... that if your pastor / preacher / priest or whatever, told you every Sun/Wed that 2+2=5 and that your satanic math teachers were lying to you saying that it was 4... and you were told this from the time you were 3 until you were 23, you would completely believe that 2+2=5 in the eyes of Jesus because that's what you have been told.

A church is just a very big house for brainwashing.

I'd like to hear the answer to this one myself. I never knew there were so many people against Jesus until I got on this website. I guess I've lived a pretty protected life.

There are a few people on here that have a real problem with Christians and for them this is a safe place to voice that.

I'm an atheist and I don't have a problem with what anybody believes or how they worship.

If it works for you....I'm fine with it.

I don't have anything against christians per se. It's their beliefs I have a problem with. When how you exercise your beliefs causes harm to others, then I have a problem with you.

And quite frankly, the way many christians exercise their beliefs is harmful to the rest of us. Insisting that your mythology be taught as science, preventing scientists from doing potentially life-saving research because of your superstitious belief in ghosts, etc.
