Since you appear to accept what the Bible says, when you point to where it states that Adam was placed in the Middle East, then you should accept the rest of the chapter.

Genesis 1 also states that Adam was created on the sixth 24 day of the universe's existence. (They have to be 24 hour days, as each is defined by a "evening and morning"). If you go back only 72 hours, the earth was not in orbit around the sun. Go back another 48 hours and there was no land. And 24 hours before that no atmosphere.

So if either people were created elsewhere before Adam, they predate him by only a matter of hours. Hardly enough time to establish "caveman" and evolution and other alternate theories of origan.

So if you stick only to the text of Genesis, it is unlikely that human life was placed elsewhere before Adam.

The Old Testament is both historical and allegorical in nature. The creation story is an allegory as to why the world was created and how man is separated from god. It is not meant to be interpreted literally as a history.

I know there are a lot of protestants who strongly disagree with me, but there are several historical reasons for your confusion which I can clear up.

First, examine (older) Jewish and Roman Catholic dogmas concerning the old testament. You don't see any Jewish groups lining up in the courts protesting evolution because they don't teach literal interpretation of Genesis. And neither do the catholics or the eastern orthodox. So why the protestants?

When Catholic missionaries traveled to protestant towns and debated with home grown theologians and protestant missionaries, particularly in remote locations like early US settlements, they would have a tremendous advantage with their formal religious education and understanding of topics outside the scriptures, including the lives of the saints and their writings which their protestant counterparts could not argue because they didn't have those writings. So to level the playing field, they adopted the philosophy of 'solo scriptura'. The idea that only the scriptures mattered and other teachings were irrelevant. This allowed them to discount other teachings and argue from their strength: knowledge of the Bible.

Literal interpretation of the scriptures was a natural progression from this point, since noone ever bothered to put footnotes in the bible dictating what was allegorical and what was historical. But (supposedly) there are hints in the writing styles that made this distinction obvious to ancient readers and historians which frontier missionaries were oblivious to.

I think Adam is just another "Little White Lye" created for the good of the people when there was no scientific explanation of our existence. The Adam & Eve story doesn't make sence. It works on little kids, which is good. Religion is good for kids; to teach them the difference between good and evil at an age when they can be easier pursueded. The Bible is a bunch of words put together by those who wanted to shape the people to serve them, such as Catholics, Islamic, etc. it is nothing but fantasy; it was the begining of Holywood.

NO NO NO. Man was Created on the 6th day, God rested on the 7th, THEN He created the Garden of Eden, and THEN He created Adam because He did not have a Tiller of the soil. It is ALL in genesis. Go back and READ it slowly and you will see it for yourself. DO NOT take my word for it, BUT take Gods Word. Adam was the FIRST MAN that Christ would enter the world through by Mary being in his Bloodline.

Why do you guys keep quoting from the bible and call it the word of God.I beg to differ...check back your history and you will know how wrong you have been. The latest version of bible is edited by the Roman Emperor Constantine...and since when can you edit the words of God?I am also aware of so many other scrolls and books..why must God come out with so many different versions of words? And the original version was written in Hebrew..and I didnt know that we have a Hebrew God..who could not speak any other languages..and one last pt...why should there be a need for the Holy Quran to be sent to man..if he Bible is indeed..God's words?

Please don't equate the quran and torah with the BIBLE. The BIBLE is God's word, and thus completely true. It clearly states that Adam was the first man. No mention of other areas of the world are needed. Adam was first for God created him out of the dust of the earth.

In Genisis it says that Adam is the first man period.

You can argue or try to change peoples minds but Gods word is Gods word. If you have faith and pray and ask God if it is true he will manifest it to you through the holy ghost.

In the bible it says he who lacks knowledge ask and it shall be givin. Of course you do have to be trying to live his commandments and have some sort of faith.

He will not answer you if you are being ignorant.
