I only eat three simple meals every day, without taking snacks in between. I consume less sugar and sweets than normal.

1. If convinient, cut your meals from 3 big ones to 5 small ones. This keeps the metabolism up throughout the day.

2. Maybe look into a natural metabolism boost because, sorry, but at you age it is gunna be quite difficult to lose. Not that it's impossible, though. When I say natural I mean maybe some supplement from One-A-Day or such... nothing serious or harmful!!!

3. Up the intensity of your workout. If you can make the walk faster or take it to a jog (or maybe a walk for 2 mins, jog for 30 sec, walk for 2, jog for 20, etc.). And then you can cut back the overall time. So instead of a 20 min walk, do a 15 min jog (or interval jog, like I explained). Higher intensity, shorter time is FARRRR more effective.

4. Add a resistant training/wegith training routine to your workout. You don't have to go big. Just some simple 2-3 pound weights (or 5 or more if you can handle it) and do some simple workouts for you muscle... you can do this 3 days a week. You can probably pick up a fitness magazine at any store and look inside and find pictures/explainations of good weight exercises to do. Try to keep it balanced... work arms one day, legs the next, and then chest/back another.. or something like that. Weight training'll put on more muscle, making your overall metabolism higher! And any "looseness" it'll firm up as it (and the jogging) burns fats and shows it off more.

Maybe you should try eating 5-6 smaller meals during the day. Walk 30 minutes in the morning and 30 minutes in the evening. That way you are uping your cardio. Don't over work yourself though....maybe even ask your doctor for advice. If you can walk at a little bit faster pace that may help too.

You are on the right track, 30 mins per day is what is recommended by the health authorities to be actively healthy,
but you need to increase your walking to one hour per day (in one hit) and increase the intensity of your walk. your optimal time to burn fat is when you are hungry, ie first thing in the morning. you need to increase your meals to have 5-6 small meals per day to kick you metabolism into fat burning mode, and try to have a protein and carbohydrate component in every meal. I like to use protein shakes for a quick meal. you could also try yoga classes or tai chi as these are not only great for your mind and posture, but also great for toning and strengthening your muscles, which in turn helps to burn fat. keep it up!
