vitamins for breast cancer?? never heard of that.

multivitamins and minerals usually serve as energy supplements to compliment with everyday activities, so that we have a support or backup whenever we get to the peak of our physical capabilities...

what your sister needs is serious treatment to somehow treat the cancer...prescribed medicines for cancer, and not vitamins, should do the job...plus some chemotherapy as advised by the doctor. any healthy woman can have breast cancer, it is either hereditary or acquired in the process.

best wishes..

I don't think there would be vitamins that could actually "cure" breast CA or prevent its progression, so to speak.

My mom was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer in 2002. There were no predisposing factors - she had her regular monthly periods, reached menarche at an appropriate age, had her first baby at the age of 24. There was no family history of breast CA either. She underwent modified radical mastectomy after the week it was diagnosed. When the wounds healed, she underwent six cycles of chemotherapy and then radiation therapy.

Those were the most gruelling days for her and it's really hard. What is important is early detection and surgery/treatment. Follow all doctors orders. Family support should be strongest at this point in her life.

My mom is almost done with her five-year observation period. Her final exams would be this May. If there would be no recurrence in any part of her body, the prognosis would be good. She was on a five-year tamoxifen therapy, too. The medications (especially the ones used for chemo) were expensive, but you have to pull up all the courage of everyone around the family.

Breast CA could be cured as long as it was easily detected and treated.

Be strong. More than vitamins, lots of family and friend support is a way to help her get on and win the battle. Constant prayers helped a lot, too! She could start eating healthy foods also. Lots of fruit juices and fish oil is great.

Her best resource is going to be her oncologist and her nutritionist - the cancer care center should have one on staff. They will also know best about what drug interactions might be possible and if there are any counterindications - for example, if she has an estrogen-receptive tumor, she should stay away from vitamins with soy in them --- things like that. If she has vitamins she is interested in taking, she should show the bottles to the oncologist so he can examine the ingredients.

It's important not to "go off the reservation" with treatments that your oncologist isn't aware of. S/he may be open to alternative treatments as long as they are supervising such care along with everything else, but they do need to know everything in order to treat her most effectively.

I am sorry for the fight she is having to face and sending my prayers that she heals soon. God bless you.

I'm so sorry to hear about your sister:(. But, here are some things that will help. Last year (i think it was), the American Medical Association did a study on turmeric, and it showed that this turmeric killed cancer cells. You can take turmeric by pill form or as a seasoning (it is a spice). Also, green tea, jason winters tea, mushroom tea, essiac tea, all are GREAT (can be found online, or at most health food stores). It's EXTREMELY important that her diet is rich in antioxidant foods....such as tomato paste, broccolli, pomegranate juice, carrots and that she stays away from sugar, cancer seems to like sugar.....

Unfortunately vitamins are not going to spare you from getting breast cancer, family history, HRT, late childbearing are big predecessors.
I would suggest a normal once a day like centrum but only take it 4 days a week.

Am sending this along in case there's something that helps in it. Best of luck.

For a diseased body to regain its ability to heal itself, all of these 10 things are important--

ANTIOXIDANTS--Vitamin C and E, silenium, germanium, many others.

ENZYMES--pancreatic, CoQ-10, and papaya--are necessary in many cases, until the body starts working right.

HERBS AND SPICES--burdock, garlic, ginger, cayenne, chaparral, licorice root, sheep sorrell, cat's claw, cleavers, red clover, pau d'arco, stillingia root, barberry, poke root, prickly ash bark, buckthorne bark, and turmeric, and others. Highly recommend a good herbalist.

MINERALS--I process my own zeolites, and take magnesium, chromium, selenium, potassium iodide, and zinc.

DETOXIFICATION--the bowels and bladder MUST be working properly to heal! Appropriate colon/parasite cleanses are absolute musts, and systemic candidiasis cleanse if necessary. This step, and food addiction, are the hardest things for most people to handle.

DIET--'pulse', as the Bible calls it--veggies and beans, the fruit of the earth--and whole grains. And cut out soda, sugar and fast food, and address your sodium/potassium balance (very low sodium during healing), and adjust your pH as necessary.

PURE WATER--at least charcoal filtered, best if steam distilled; tap water and some bottled waters contain things that turn off the body's ability to heal.

STRESS--lower it. Also, do any necessary grieving for losses in your life, and heal emotionally. Constant negative emotions depress the immune system.

EXERCISE (and oxygen)--absolutely indispensible--you will not get well just sitting around. Period. No exceptions. Get on your feet and get active, and get the lymph system working and get oxygen to the tissues--or die.

EDUCATION--get a working knowledge of the above nine areas. Convince yourself that living and thriving again is possible. Dr. Hulda Clark, a contributor mentioned above, has legally proven her approach cures cancer, and she claims a 95% success rate. She publishes the pictures, x-rays and lab reports to prove it, as did Harry Hoxey and Max Gerson.. It is tragic that they are blacklisted.

If alternative medicine is to provide a way for the body to heal itself of cancer, we must be willing to unlearn much that we take for granted in Western civilization, and change our life. It is sad that we are a nation of sheeple--uninformed, fearful, and easily distracted by our pastimes. Bet you didn't know that the very first use of flouride was in the Russian penal system to keep prisoners calm and manageable. Well, it was. And today, it's in many municipal water systems in our country, even though it has serious documented side effects. But that's another story.

Healing our bodies is absolutely possible! Some do not have the courage, motivation and self-discipline to change and heal, but many people do. If you have cancer, just take the area mentioned above that you are most interested in, and learn about that. You'll be glad you did. Best of luck.
