list your stuff on www.freecycle.org you just find the group for your part of the world and list your stuff on there, I've used the site a few times and it's great. Otherwise, why not give it to a charity shop? (goodwill) - lots of them will come and collect it for you. Much better Karma than putting it in the bin to head for a landfill.

if you want toget rid of things and you dont know if they are worth anything to anyone or not there are a few ways you can do it you could ask your friends and family if they want some of the stuff .. or you could do a garage sale which takes alot of time and effort to go thru and price everything and set it up OR you could find a local good will and donate it all and let it go to people who can use things last resort should be trashing everything

There are freecycle groups on Yahoo - post what you have, and people will come and get it.

You can post on Craig's list and maybe get a little money for the same items.

Salvation Army will pick up your stuff for free, too.

If it's really junk, let it go. If you really think someone wants it, donate it to a local shelter or church. I find the churches and shelters are far more accepting of clothes and things than the more "official" donation places.

Why don't you recycle it? If not, how about seeing if you can sell it at a car boot sale or on ebay? One mans junk is another's treasure...

List it on freecycle. doesn't cost you anything to list, and people who want or need the stuff will come and collect it. Saves you a trip to the tip.

What do you have? I have nothing in my house after a major breakup with a crazy girl and a divorce. I have a big, empty house.
