Child Psychology is the understanding of "levels of children". It is learning how to direct their learned and learning behavior..discovering habits that contribute as a result of or as indications of (such as grief stages when losing a loved one).It is a degree that can be used in alot of different careers. It also teaches you appropriate ways to speak to a child because it is easy to sway a kid by what you say (even when you don't know they are listening).
Child day-care is more focused on the routine that benefits a child most. Nutrician and things like that to help you better enable yourself to care for a child(ren). It also involves legal aspects (first aid requirements, paperwork neccessary to have a child under your care, etc.) It also kind of breaks down appropriate levels of different age groups including- feeding their mind, daily exercise, etc.
They both are a wonderful aspect to learn as what you learn will be used forever! I should think in your studies- A major in child psychology with a minor in day-care would cover all that you would need to be a childcare worker, hospital or psychiatric worker, etc. The day-care requirements are more of a legal thing...you can acquire that at a later time because it takes less time. Another great thing you can do is court-appointed special advocate...you kind of follow along in a child's life so that rather than drag them through court you can speak for them as a "specialist". You can volunteer to do this through your local welfare service whil studying so that you start acquiring background immediately! It's good experiance but you have to be willing to devote yourself to the benefit of the child in a professional manner...your testimony could deal with things that will change this kid's whole life! Good luck and I hope you succeed in finding what is right for you!

Child day care would be taking care of a child physically. Child psychology deals with the behavioral problems. You would need to go to college and get a PhD in order to practice.

My friend is just about to go to uni to become a psychologist, she is having to do a degree in nursing where she will specialise in psychology in year 2!!! My sister used to work in child day care, this means that you are working in a nursery/pre school looking after the bubs and possible doing some teaching. you can start this off by working in a nursery/pre school where they can put you through your NVQ's ect

child day care is learning about childrens daily needs and how they learn child phsycology is about the way they think and their feelings and welfare. I would prefer the child phsycology but that is because I want to work with children through the social work sector.

day care is vocational, and psychology is not specialising in anything so you have to do vocational training afterwards for it to get you anywhere.
