The Bible is not in chronological order. And as a previous poster stated, you have four different saints telling the same story.
What ultimately matters is that Jesus commited His spirit into God's hands and that the curtain was turn.
The whole point of the curtain was on the Day of Atonement, the priest would come in through the curtain, and slay an animal for the people's sins. People would fast and pray during this event. This is celebrated at Passover. Instead of an animal having to be slain every year, Jesus was sacrificed one time. Now we no longer need the priest to go in and sacrifce an animal for our sins because now His blood clenses us from our sins as long as we repent and obey the gospel. Jesus is our passover.
To understand the passover, you have to understand the time of the plagues when the angel of death passed over everyone who had blood on their doors. The angel of death will again passover everyone who has the blood of Jesus in their hearts.
--hope this helps!!

The answer is (a). This is because He couldn't "fulfill the Law" of the OT Scripture until AFTER HE DIED! Even during His lifetime, the OT Laws concerning Christianity were in effect! The moment He died and "the veil was rent in twain from the top to the bottom", it became possible for man to seek his salvation on his own through repentance, water baptism, sanctification and being filled with the Holy Ghost instead of having to have a priest anoint the corners of the Ark of the Covenant with the blood of the sacrifice. Before that moment, it wasn't possible for just anyone to go behind that veil or they would've been struck dead in the presence of the Shekinah glory of God, not even the preists! If they had sin in their lives and entered that veiled area, they too would be struck dead! The only way to get them out would be to listen for a bell tied around their waists with a length of rope that trailed behind them. If they were struck down, the bell would clang real loud, and someone would grab the other end of the rope and drag that priest out! Isn't it wonderful that we have such an easy path to take if we only have the sense and desire to take it?

Is it truly relavant - EXACTLY WHEN it tore? The fact is that is tore durng the crucifixion. The four gospels are the four seperate accounts of Chists ministry from Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Is is like asking four different people to paint a picture of the same object. Each painitng WILL be different based on the artists ability and perspective. But putting all the images together gives someone who has never seen the object a better idea of what it is like without ever seeing it. Why would it be any different with the "word painting" of Christ?
The four gospels are exactly this. four different perspectives of Christ's ministry from four men who come from different backgrounds and ways of looking at things. I believe the reason that we have four gospels, is so we can look at them together to get a better image of Christ.

God needed it to tear aside. that enable easily everyone be attentive to that there grow to be no longer a seperation between God and guy anymore. Jesus , the guy, had entered into the Holy of Holys to grow to be our extreme priest for all time. it particularly is thrilling to me that the veil interior the Temple ripped aside lots comparable to a womans hymen is torn on the marriage night and existence is in a position to commence. it particularly is one reason abortion is this style of sin and why intercourse in the previous marriage is so undesirable. we are given a wager to take part in creation. We shouldn't mess it up

I asked this exact same question a while back...I didn't get a good answer though. Most people said the order didn't matter, which is stupid because if the bible is infallible then order does matter.
