I have changed the tube twice and there are no holes in the tire and nothing noticeably wrong with the rim. Within a few hours something has made a small hole in the tube and I am back to nothing. Could the tube be too big (its a universal tube)? or is there some other possible problem?

Did you check all around the inside of the tire for what punctured it in the first place? Odds are that it's still there.

The other one that can get you is if your rim strip shifts and the spoke hole cuts through the tube, but that's not as likely.

Are you checking for holes properly?

Inflate the tube partially. Drop it into some water and give it a squeeze. If you see air coming out that is where the leak is.

It may also be the valve stems on the tube. Those sometimes leak if they are night tight or if they are no good to begin with.

Check inside of the tires to see if there is any damage that will cause the tube to be damaged when you install it.

There are two possibilities:

One would be a pinch flat. This is cause by, having riden over a rock, or boulder, your tyre is pinched so that your tube splits. What you describe does not sound like this. I would say, run your hand along the inside of your tyre. You may find that there is still something sharp inside the tyre.

If this dosn't help, try adding slime to your tube.

Is the valve OK? Anything stuck in the tyre?(English spelling, before I get shouted at!) I always used to test the tubes in water before fitting them, after buying a few faulty ones. I'd take the wheel, etc, to a bike repair shop and ask them to check it out. Good luck

First question: have you ever actually repaired the flat? First you communicate some puncture, then you definately communicate approximately punctures in the plural. in case you have replaced the internal tube and the tire continues to be going flat, did you examine the tire for in spite of foreign places merchandise brought about the flat? in case you probably did no longer, it might desire to nonetheless be there, and as quickly as you holiday returned, this is going to puncture the recent tube and reason yet another flat. in case you haven't any longer replaced the tube, the puncture continues to be there in spite of if the tire holds air for various hours, it won't pass away by potential of itself, you're able to repair it.

whenever you have a flat, you mark tire and tube when you remove them. find the puncture mark on your tube then go to the same area on the tire. feel the inside area slowly[so as to not puncture your finger] with your finger.if you find something, pinch the tire tread and removethe item from the outside...universal tube?? always buy tubes for your specific tire size..

Check to see if there is a slow leak around where the fitting is on the tube.
