If you are lost somewhere in a city you only need to approach anybody and explain your situation. Most of the time people anywhere in the world will be very happy to help you.
If you are lost in the city and you have no money it will be more difficult for you but still some people will help you. If you are able to see a police officer or government official he may help you and even contact your embassy to assist you if necessary.

Look for police. Look for hotels and see if they have a map in the lobby. Act like you stay at the hotel and ask questions to get you to a monument near the location you want to go to. Say Thank You to those that help.

Asking a cop would be best. Or a store owner. Or call for a taxi cab and tell them to take you back where you want to be.

Go to the nearest train station and ask one of the staff. They often have maps too.

just try to ask the people around you, boy, you wouldnt be killed just by asking questions. just ask as if you have been there before but unfortunately you have forgotten your way back wherever youre going.
