I used to be that way. I was never really over weight, but didn't "look or feel good" and diet changes didn't help.
I started weight training, raquet ball and hiking to feel better and have more energy. I was skeptical but it DID work. My companion took some pictures of me at the beach and I Said,"That ain't me!" Well it was....so I bought some skimpy swimwear! LOL

It worked for me but it took a change in lifestyle. You may not have want to hear the truth. But like it or not, the fountain of youth does exsist but it takes the correct attitude and effort.

Good luck to all of you taking action to improve your health! You're a step closer

I'm trying to put emphasis on lifestyle change. Rather than sit infront of the television, do something more physically active.

We live in a microwave society where the mentality is any avenue except one that requires disclipline. It's tough for most people to force themselves to do something they preceive as encumbersome and taxing.

You are absolutely correct. There has only been and probably will only be one answer. Lifestyle change. The odd thing is once you've grown acustom to it, you'll wonder why you didn't start earlier.

Attitude, dedication, and motivation.

In order to lose weight and keep it off, you must limit caloric intake and exercise at the same time.

The reason these two work so much better together than alone is this: When you reduce caloric intake your body hordes calories. It stores the calories it is getting and burns muscle for energy. This is a good strategy for your body to take if calories are going to be in short supply for a long period of time.

Burning muscle means that you have more trouble exercising and that, in turn, means that you are likely to get into a rebound situation in which you eventually gain back whatever weight you've lost, and since you now have fewer muscles (the principal mechanism for burning calories) you are going to gain even more weight.

The only way out of this trap is to prevent your body from burning muscle by making the muscles work. If they are working they make a priority demand on the calories you consume. Hence those calories never have a chance to turn to fat.

Simply because they want instant remedy, and exercise would mean to them a lot of effort and time to spend with. I do exercise regularly to maintain good physique. I started to jog just last week and motivated to continue it. I've been lifting weights for the past seven months and I it feels different, not counting the admiration you get from other people.

I just read this is untrue. That weight Loss is possible by diet only if people actually reduce calories. Obviously exercise burns calories but the amount is minimal
