Lice have mutated so they can meet the challenge if you are asking why"? Are you suffering from itchy hair

A human of any race can get lice equally to anyone else (unless they are bald). Some black people keep their hair extremely short, so they might have less chance for lice to live in it. But it isn't a racial difference, it's only how short you keep your hair cut (that's why the army practically shaves your head). Your teachers were following a myth.

The idea that a black person can't get lice comes from a tendency for blacks to use heat to straighten their hair. Lice, and their nits, can't survive in hair that's straightened with a hot comb, or with intense heat from a blow dryer. Even people with short hair can get lice. Race has nothing at all to do with it.

Even birds and farm animals can get lice.

Keep scratchin' your head while wondering if you can catch them.
