There's no magic number. Bulking up your abdominal muscles alone won't cause a six pack; you also have to have adequately low body fat. For men, getting to about 10% body fat or below will usually start making you look chiseled, though you'll most likely already start seeing more obvious definition around 12%.

The number of crunches isn't as important as the lack of fat. If you have a "spare tire" around your waist, the ab muscles won't show no matter how many crunches you do.

I'd try two sets of twenty, twice a day. If that feels too easy, gradually build up the number of crunches per set.

A "six" pack is determined by genes believe it or not.if it is not in your genes you can do a thousand abdominal exercises and still have no "six" pack.
