ambulant

- walking, continuing active; moving about from place to place.

As a child develops, regular assessment of hip position and spinal alignment is necessary. This is important for the ambulant child, and critical for the immobile child, to maintain posture and the health of internal organs. The children attend clinics regularly and the Consultant Pediatrician requires films for assessment, in and/or out of brace, erect or on the couch, dependant on the child’s individual need.
