I think you are referring to "Past Life Regression", it's not really going back in time but going back in your memory. It's a takeoff on a practice done by psychologists in which, under hypnosis, they would lead a person back through their childhood and even into the womb to discover the root causes of psychological illnesses.

I already did, and it was exhausting.
I went back in time and killed Hitler. They blamed it on suicide.... but it was me. He would have made a major comeback and won the war otherwise.
And you have no idea what kind of a world I grew up in.
It was actually kinda cool... now I think about it... But I was a radicalist, insisted on learning English despite it falling out of common use... It is useful now, but the rest of the world has fallen into a state of bickering, minority-promotion, hypocrisy and rampant idiocy.
But yeah... you definitely can time-travel under hypnosis.
You cannot use it to cheat the lottery though.

No.
Hypnosis is a process of leaving yourself open to suggestion. This may have real therapeutic value in the management of irrational anxiety disorders, addictions, etc, and as a way of removing inhibitions to recognising emotional states, but is not a way of accessing memory.
Any "new" information is nearly always suggested as part of the process.
