There's no such thing as "no consequence". Every action has an effect.

But, dear, there are ALWAYS consequences to our actions. That's part of the natural universe. It's how things work.

If you drop something right now, it's not going to float off into the sky.

Admittedly, the consequences to our actions are not always that immediate or easy to see....but they are there.

Consequences are unavoidable. They are *built into* our existence.

When we understand that, we no longer needs threats of punishment or promises of reward from an immaterial being.

BTW, what on earth makes you think that human instinct and aggression are NOT in operation right now? There's a LOT of aggression in the ways that many religious folks behave towards others, and our instinct to form packs can be seen there, too...

If there were no government and we were running on instinct, things would be a lot less chaotic. Let me give you an example: You get mad at Bob, you kill Bob, Bob's brother George gets mad about this so he comes and kills you. Problem solved. If you knew that if you killed someone their family or friends could kill you for it, the chances are that you would refrain from killing people. The same could be said of every other crime or social harm. Anarchy is a lot more logical than an imposed form of government by people who break their own rules.

"Consequence" is irrelevant. All "consequence" is transient... and effectively only exists in the imagination.

As such, there is no consequence.... so that part of the question is redundant. I don't know how long the human race will last either.... *Shrugs* ... Few million years at best?

...... Unless of course you're actually talking about causality....
If there was no causality... the Universe wouldn't exist in the first place.

Human instinct is all about survival. With no laws we would have murderers, rapists, racists, gang members, and all the rest of societys scum fighting over control of the world. Not just the usa but the entire world. hefore I would give it about 5 years

The human race would go on, but civilized living would end in short order.

Well they did fairly well up to about 10,000 years ago when all that sort of stuff was codified. The human race would continue to survive, civil society would not.
