I ate rabbit (and hare) for the first time last night at scouts and i know what I thought it tasted like, just wondered what other people's opinions of it were!

Well, if I was ever stuck with you in the wild and I knew how to skin and cook a rabbit, and you didn't, wouldn't you get a bit peckish when you smelled the meat cooking?? Just because people keep them as pets it dosen't make them any worse to eat, some people keep lambs as pets and plenty of people eat lamb. It's called survival techiniques. Get over it.

I shoot them regularly. They're delicious with subtle game taste which is quite unique. Hare is slightly stronger tasting and even nicer.

Nice. We used to have rabbit quite often when I was young,Especially in the war time when meat was scarce. It could be baked or put in a stew or casserole. It always reminds me of chicken, not exactly the same, but similar. I hope you enjoyed it.

Depends on how you cook it. Tastes best in a stew, cooked low & for a long time with herbs & spices.

My gran used to cook it a lot due to the war time however I had never heard of eating rabbit until I went to live with her.
She made the most fantastic stew and everyone would come for miles just to eat it.
One day I said I never thought chicken could be made into a stw they all laughed and told me it was rabbit stew I ran out of the house and was sick as a dog never eaten it since!
Sorry rabbit is a pet and could not bear the thought of eating it ever again it tasted like a dry chicken meat but darker.
