Being fluent in English, in my opinion, puts you ahead of about 12 million Hispanic illegal immigrants.
I recommend you go to the web sites and perform the research necessary. Learn the process and follow it. You want to add to the culture and not try to subvert it or try to alter it to your existing culture. This is what many Hispanics try to do.
