I understand your intent in your question.
Let us, however, to begin with, agree that ALL followers of ANY religion based upon a supernatural god, are indoctrinated (better word than brainwashed but does mean the same thing) into that belief by being taught so. We are all born as atheists.
Now, in the 'west', we are free to choose to have any kind of religion we care to or even none at all, provided we didn't have parents who forced a belief into our impressionable child minds.
In an Islamic country, there is no choice. From the word go, you WILL be a muslim. You WILL learn the Q'ran. You will NOT, upon pain of death, convert to any other religion or become an atheist.
You WILL believe that there is a god and you WILL believe all the garbage associated with it - paradise, hell, etc, etc. You WILL believe that Mohammed was a really nice guy - despite the evidence to the contrary, which you WILL ignore.
You WILL pray towards Mecca five times a day and you will NOT miss even one prayer or you WILL go to hell. You WILL understand that men are superior to women ...

and so it goes on.

If one takes away the god concept totally, which is really quite easy, the whole shooting match becomes so farcical. The very few (not THAT few) extremist muslims who are terrorists honestly believe that they are killing and destroying for their god and that they will be rewarded with a guaranteed place in heaven - with 72 virgins on hand (even for FEMALE suicide bombers?).
The whole system is rubbish from beginning to end but, due to the system, more (compulsory)muslims are being born every minute of every day.

At this point, those muslims living in the 'west' and not subject to Sharia law, are not qualified to comment, as they are living privileged lives and do not have to obey Shariah law unconditionally.

Anyone living in the 'west', especially non-arab, who have converted to Islam because it is 'such a wonderful religion' are also living in the same fantasy-land. Together with the above variety, they cry 'foul' when Islam is ridiculed and they also whisper 'foul' when Islamic terrorists kill and destroy in the name of allah ... but DO NOTHING ABOUT IT! Doing nothing is the same as condoning it.

Whatever religion, god is an imaginary entity, existing only in the minds of the indoctrinated. Nothing, repeat - NOTHING, proves the actual existence of a paranormal being.

That said - and agreed upon by vast numbers - the praying, however many times a day, is a ridiculous practice. The killing and destroying is even more ridiculous.
When will the human race allow itself to become REAL and dispense with this religion nonsense? Maybe sooner than we think but the muslims will take a while longer ... for a prime example of ignorance, see MUSLIM BOY's comment above mine.

It seems to me that the average non-Muslim has been brainwashed into thinking that all Muslims are suicide bombers or terrorists when the vast, vast majority of Muslims, while taking their religion seriously, are normal, peaceful people who are as disgusted by the atrocities wrought in the name of their religion as the rest of us are. I currently live in a Muslim country and I have met not one single militant all the time I have been here. One of my best friends is a blonde, white, blue-eyed New Yorker who also happens to be Muslim and through her, I have heard about what the REAL Muslim faith is, and while not religious myself, I can see an awful lot of good in the Koran. She's an intelligent, free-thinking woman, about as far removed from being "brainwashed" as it's possible to be.

Ignorance is a scary thing. Try and look at the world from a broader perspective.

Yes, We Muslims believe there's God. Our Idea of God is Uniqe and interesting.. He's an Almighty being that protects us, helps us in our life, and punish those who commit evil deeds. He's a SOLE being.. with no friend, wife or son. He is eternal and everlasting.

According to The Islamic Ideology, Muhammad PBUH stated that any Muslim who threats innocent people is not Muslim. And stated that his life is against Fanatics, and "Whomsoever preferes another fanatic life is not my follower". What you see today is not Islam.. Those are the really brain Washed people.. They are full of heatered.. and lead by illogic unreasonable minds. (I like the word "illogic" ! Oh Lawrence of Arabia, boy, you're so good! why don't you just pat on yourself's shoulder). Thanks for your question, you deserve a star.

Muslims are victims of Islam.
They are brainwashed.
Doesn't mean they don't believe in their god. They can do no other in many cases... but that is only because they have never been given the real choice not to.

It is the same to a lesser extent with christianity.... just with less death-threats and more rhetorical coercion.

By definition, Muslims believe in the same god that Jews and Christians believe in. The difference comes in who they believe their prophets and messiahs are.
Jews - Several prophets, no Messiah as of yet.
Christians - A few prophets, and Jesus was the Messiah.
Muslims - One main prophet, Muhammed.

It doesn't sound like much of a difference between the three, but you can see how these minute differences can lead to problems.

Are you really brain dead or are you just stupid?

A SMALL minority of Muslims are extremists. A small minority of THOSE are terrorists.

The 'peace loving' Christians of time gone by wouldn't have gone to another country and slaughtered people simply for their beliefs!
NO!

Those Heathen Saracens were asking for it!
They had stars on things and.... and curvy swords!

When the Christians can say that they are the same as any other religious follower, then they will be worth listening to.
The same goes for ALL Religions.

Tolerance and Understanding is whats needed to stop all this cr@p going on in the world!

1. sow the seeds.
2. water it daily.
3. take care of it.
But he could not make the plant grow Hwo he the that who cause it grow? Hwo made Sun which's light is used in photosynthesis.

You ask do they believe in a God, or are they brainwashed?
Couldn't anyone who believes in a God, be brainwashed?
Would anyone adhere to any religion if they were never taught about it?
If you teach people that something is true, and it happens not to be true, you have brainwashed someone into believing a falsehood.
We probably all believe in something which isn't true, because we don't test all evidence.

Muslims, Christians, Jews - all have the same God, just different names.

"Allah" is "God" in another language

Sorry - this question doesn't make sense!

Muslims believe there is a god AND they are all brainwashed! That's WHY they believe.

Same applies to ALL religions! That's why followers are encouraged to go to regular meetings - to continue the brainwashing!

Only happy atheists respect ALL the people of the world and don't care about their religious/ethnic/tribal/geographical background. We don't need to prove that we are the only people who know the "truth". We don't need to be brainwashed - we have no beliefs!
