You have to be a "people person"
and be able to put up with all different kinds of people
clients and co workers
I also have an art degree and I think you must have a creative side to you
I have been doing hair for 30 years and can't see myself doing anything else
It's good to go to work and love your work.. what ever you choose to do
I would do it for free if I had other income

yes, there are actually people who enjoy cutting hair for a living. I have a friend (guy) who cuts hair as a job and when he is off work and he enjoys it because he is good at it. whenever you do something that you really like doing, its enjoyable. besides with all the cuts they have now for men, looking at your work and being known by it makes it just that much more profitable and fun.

I really enjoy doing hair, everyday is a new day and I'm never bored! There is no other feeling in the world when someone loves the cut or color you just gave them and you see the smile in their eyes

I think people see it as an art form that can transform the way someone feels. When I get my hair cut I feel like a new person and my self confidence increases.

You can be very creative with colours and cuts too. Its another way for someone to express themselves

Yes ppl underestimate the power of a professional beautician. We tend to make lots of money, way more than ppl think.I mean everybody NEEDS some kind of hair care at one point or another.People who can afford it,or really pride themselves on looking good come once a week sometimes. That is a shave, trim, waxing of the eyebrows, keeping color inatct, weaves(sometimes $500) or more.I absolutley love when someone damn near bald comes over and says help..and i send her walking away looking like a model for an after shot of rogaine for women, with hair that really looks like hers.Seeing someone's self esteem rise after you've hooked them up is priceless...but not really.lol.Yes we really love doing hair!!

i LOVE it. It is my passion, my haircuts for women are $85.00 for women and $45.00 for men. After a days work i usually make anywhere from $800.00 to a thousand dollars and i LOVE IT! That's not form just cutting but color as well. I'm a very busy stylist in a very upscale salon and i travel the world and do hair for different fashion shows! So your answer is YES!

I think it takes a special person to want to cut and style hair too.
I have been going to mine for over 10 years and she always told me that she used to get her hair done and the person would not listen so she decided to go to beauty school and be the stylist
the she wanted for herself.
