good question... and one that has always bugged me !! Soooooo annoying. I keep my butter in the cupboard now, hate not being able to spread butter !

Because if you are like us, we have the spreadable butter in the fridge, and we leave the real butter in a butter dish in the cupboard.
So as the spreadable is being kept chilled in the fridge it is harder to spread.

I know EXACTLY what you mean!
However, the other week at Asda, Kerrygold spreadable butter was on promotion, so (like a sucker) I HAD to have some!
I must say, I was VERY surprised!
It was both DELICIOUS and extremely spreadable!!
Give it a go - the only thing is, in our house we can go through a tub every two days!!

Its because they add vegetable oil to the spreadable butter.Its in theory not actually 100% butter.

surley nothing can be as as un-spreadable as real butter, it's like a brick! i shove it in the microwave for a few sec's!
