I brought a step twister that not only you step up and down but also go side to side. It also has rope stretch handles attached to use as a pull for upper body those are hard work lol
I have lots 7 inches in three weeks also a few pounds. It helps not only burn fat but also toning at the same time so two bits of equipment in one.
Mine was £35 from argos and it is small so not in the way and the beuty of it is you can pop on it whilst listening to music and five mins has gone before you know it
Did try bike which ended up gathering dust like someone said great clothes horse.
All I can say is stepper works for me and suits me and three times a week I do with my daughter 20 mins keep fit video Rosemary Connery as is more an expert than so called celebrity ones with the exseption of Bev of Corrie she is trained keep fit instructor.

If you are considering buying one....think carefully. I bought an exercise bike and after using it for a few months it has now turned into a glorified clothes hanger, taking up much needed space in my bedroom. There are plently things you can do without shelling out for an expensive piece of equipment. If you don't like running or riding a real bike then try a skipping rope or one of those small trampetes, they are pretty cheap and as with any piece of equipment you get out what you put in. If you still want an exercise bike or stepper check out the free adds and buy second hand.
Out of the two I'd say stepper as exercise bikes can be really uncomfortable when you are on them for a long period of time..this is what put me off using mine the most.

Both i'd say! Although if i had to choose i'd say the bike for the weight loss! Then get a stepper to tone up!! But those bloody steppers are hard going!!

stepper machine will tone your legs, and eventually increase the muscles, which i think is really ugly. Bike, is good, but i would recommend you to run on the treadmill until you lose the weight you wanted then to the other exercises. Running is the best way to burn carbs, because it works your whole body!

Forget about the stepper. Like me, you will tired out in very short while. This will not help you to burn much fats. Another problem with stepper is that the stepping movement hurts your knee especially when you are over weight.

It really depends on your exercise level.

The best forms of exercise should involve variety, so if you want to be fit and toned you should be doing a lot of different exercises.

The step exercise can be very intensive, and very bad if you are not very fit. The exercise bike can be used for gentle to more streneous exercise.

Personally I would buy a bicycle, go riding in the country, much more fun.

Use both! I did today. Bike is good cardio and the stepper machine....I think it's good for your buttocks and it's also a form of cardio.
