Not at all. Atheistic and/or nationalistic governments like Russia, China, North Korea, Germany, Japan, etc. have brought about much more havoc ... at least in the past 100 years.
The Catholic Church had a monopoly in Europe for 1000+ years during the Dark Ages, and it became very man-centered and introduced many non-Biblical practices.
The Crusades were originally to take Jerusalem back from Moslems.
Over the past 200 years or so, my understanding is that nations that are guided by the Protestant religion have been rather well behaved. They fight back when attacked, but otherwise tend to mind their own business.
When people who claim to be Christians resort to violence, they are going against the teachings of their founder. Other nations have swords in their flag (representing conversion by conquest) but not Christian nations.
Christianity teaches that the government has the role to enforce laws (using the sword) and to defend against aggression (just war).

Here we go again the same old myths you should do your homework you might learn something. In the 20th century we had Hitler who was no Christian in fact he and many Nazis were obsessed with the occult Millions died under their regime. Stalin and the Communists murdered over 500 million they were materialists and considered religion as the opium of the people Church's were burned to the ground . We also have North Korea which tortures believers and China were there's a growing underground church. To answer your question no there have been those in the past who have claimed to have followed the faith but anyone who has read the Gospels and follows it would be restrained and support peace and forgiveness . Sadly many Atheists and left wingers seem to continue to spread this myth yet don't comment on the treatment of believers in the above nations.

I will twist the nature of your question.
Professed Christians have caused lots of wars, but not by following Christianity.
George Bush, and Tony Blair, both claim to be Christians, but they do not solve world problems using the teachings of Christ according to the Bible.
Christianity is one of the most popular groups of religion, so a lot of death will be caused by Christians. The same people could have caused the same deaths if they were agnostics or athiests.
So in answer to your question, I would say No.
Christianity is not responsible, though it is responsible for making the people who cause death, into Christians.
I am not a Christian.

Jesus Christ, is not responsible to all the nasties that happens, it is men's own destructions and selfishness, it has nothing to do with Jesus. Jesus
teachers us to love one another, even turn the other cheeks, He never preached hate, but LOVE.

christianity is responsible for the current problems in the middle east as Pope Urban II called the 1st crusade to take Jerusalem (the 3rd most important muslim city) causing muslim unrest and the development of the concept of Jihad (islamic holy war) by the three greatest military leaders in islamic history (Zengi, Nureddin and Saladin). This was all triggered by the christian society of the time so christian society is mainly responsiable for the current hatred towards the western world from fundamentalist shi'ite muslims (not for one minute that i condone terrorism or freedom fighters whatever you want to call them) but we are responsible as a society

religion has been the main cause for war since the dawn of man!
i am a firm believer that Christians have created the problems we have today. for example, we are up in arms when we are attacked in our own country by Muslim extremists, we scratch our heads and wonder why this has happened 'what have we ever done to them?'. people need to look back through history, THE CRUSADES! that's what we did to deserve it! the church sent the Templar knights into Jerusalem where they then ransacked the place and butchered the Muslim 'inhabitants'!
so have we learned anything at all? short answer...no! the christian Templar knights go by a different name now, coalition forces, and the Muslim homelands we are ransacking is known as Iraq/Afghanistan.
Jesus must be spinning on his crucifix at the atrocities Christians have committed in his name!

The answer would have to be NO as Christianity is a relatively new religion and religious wars certainly aren't new at all. Even in modern times, Christian armies are few and far between. After the middle ages, they have pretty much ceased to exist. They had a short hey-day that came and went. Even then, religion was simply an excuse that was palatable for the masses. All wars are political in nature.
It's amazing how many obtuse people seem to truly believe the swill they are churning out. Ah, well...politicians have ALWAYS been clever enough to manipulate the masses.

Not at all. People who cause death and destruction to lives and community will do so because thats the way they are. Christianity doesn't promote this behavior.

Arguably Christianity has been the most ruthless and blood thirsty religion in history but what is you silent point?? Unfortunately we do not need religion to be bloodthirsty and ruthless. We just change labels. In the Name of God, in the Name of the Emperor, in the Name of the Country, in the Name of Freedom in the Name of Etc.. In the very large scheme of Civilization religion among other things is also a political and military tool.
