Can you please give me a brief decription of the role of each participant both in the BAptismal ceremony and throughtout the child's faith journey??? THANKS

The priest or deacon pours the water over the head of the person being baptized.

The parents of the child profess faith on behalf of the child and promise to raise the child in the Catholic faith.

The godparents, who must be Catholic, promise to aid the parents in raising the child in the Catholic faith. They are there to support the parents and to be good role models of faith in the life of the child.
