My formula is =(G29-G27)

I want to know how can I make the results appear in a different color if the amount in G27 becomes larger than G29? Basically I want my negative numbers to appear in a different color. Any help would be appreciated.

Simple , really easy to do

Highlight Cell G27
Go to Format
Conditional formating

If Cell value is greater than "click cell G29"

Then click format and format the cell as you would like it to appear. Shading is a really good and professional use of conditional formating.

Glad I could help

Keep your formula as it is. Just select the cell, and go to Format > Conditional Formatting and define your condition: select option "cell value is ", then "less than" and "0", then click Format and set the formatting, for example set a different color.

Under the Format menu, select Conditional Formatting. It's pretty self-explanatory there - you can format a cell in different ways that you specify depending on the range its value falls in.

go to that particular cell, say 'A1'. Press Ctrl+1; select number(the first tab); then under the options again select 'number'. right hand side towards bottom, there is the option of selecting format for the negative numbers. universally preferred one is 'red font color in brackets'. contact me if you have any other query in excel

Cheers
