Idly curious as I just ran across it, but these examples aren't meant to be all-inclusive.
Someone posts a question about Islam. There will be 5 posts up there by certain Christian posters saying to read the Bible and accept Jesus.
Conversely, someone else asks a question about Biblical stuff, and there will be posts in there about this and that Sura and hadith.
A third person asks a question about religion as a whole or innocuous and frankly interesting stuff like good verses for a kid's baptism, and here come the comments of, 'Well, I have a brain, so I don't need religion, so why bother asking? Atheism is the way to go.'
I haven't run into this from Hindu, Buddhist, or Jewish posters, but if there are examples, feel free to list them. I'm just curious why people don't learn to pick their battles. What makes folks do that? If you're commenting and are not the religion of the thread poster, don't do anything in their thread that you would be annoyed if they did in yours.

fourmorebeers - That's true, but it's still kind of amazing how, 'I would like to bake cookies to take to the church sale' or 'I would like to find a place to buy traditional Muslim clothing in Peoria' turn into mudslinging contests. The threads that ask for it and encourage it, I wholly understand. The ones that don't ask for it shouldn't get hamfisted attempts at conversion.

I'm guessing that more often than not it's the 2 points. Of course you can't actually do anything with the points except collect them. Bit sad really. ;-)

Christians and Muslims are so insecure that they feel their religion is constantly under attack and must be defended.
Jews don't want to get involved, they're quite happy standing back watching Christians and Muslims tear each other apart
Buddhists know what's what but are perfectly prepared to listen to fanatical fundimentalists, evaluate their ridiculous arguments, nod and smile and move on to the next idiot
.
Don't know about the Hindu's; used to think they were similar to Buddhists but there are plenty of hard line Hindus attacking (defending thenmselves from) Muslims in India.
Can you imagine a militant Buddhist?

specific, I even have discovered to %. my battles. some issues you purely would desire to enable slide. It grew to become into purely the as quickly as and it is not certainly one of those undesirable element. i do unlike sugar for a small infant the two, yet there is worse issues they'd've performed. My MIL, case in point, refused to have faith me as quickly as I informed her my son is allergic to a definite bum cream. She reported she used it on her young ones and that they are all high-quality. So, to evidence a factor (she's desirable i'm incorrect), she have been given the distinctive cream and placed it on my son's bum devoid of my information. day after as we communicate she boasted approximately it, and reported there is not something incorrect with him. as quickly as I took off my son's diaper, his little bum grew to become into lined in blisters! He nevertheless has the scars to evidence it. Now, that's some thing i could not enable pass! next time you pass away your daughter there, purely tell them appropriate you will like it in the event that they did not provide her a Mr. Freezie. Lie, and tell them she had the main undesirable diarrhea, yet whilst they want to ruin her, you packed her a number of her wide-unfold treats, which she's purely allowed on specific occassions. perhaps they did not understand any extra advantageous, you recognize, some human beings do not continuously understand (or care approximately those issues) what to grant babies. in the event that they don't appreciate your needs - then you definately %. your combat. :)

And what happens if you wouldn't be irritated by anything they put in your thread? Public forums are not for shrinking violets nor for those who only want to get an 'Amen' from like minded believers.
Edit:
Yes you are right, I try to answer the straight questions with straight answers if I know them that is...

I occasionally will post in threads of other religions, but usually if they are requesting information themselves... I try to be polite and only present information that is logical and be concise. I feel it is important for someone of any religion to understand both why they believe what they believe and also why people of other religions believe.

Micheal Savage for president or America is finished. Republicrates and demicans can't do the job. They are the red hand in the pink glove that are working ambitiously, bi-partisanly, to destroy my country. I want my country back. It has been stolen from me by liars and thieves.
