Naseeruddin Shah and Omar Sharif are definitely Muslim. So presumably not.

(PS Is Om Puri Muslim? He was another one that came to mind as I saw and liked both My Son the Fanatic and East is East, but Wikipedia only says that he's Indian, which I already knew. Edit - Thanks, habayeb. I wasn't sure but figured I may as well ask!)

Also, as someone who saw Edward Said and Jack Shaheen both speak at my alma mater, they count as Islam-influenced media people too. (If anyone is interested, Shaheen's book 'Reel Bad Arabs' is very interesting - it's about cinematic portrayal of Arabs. I used to be a film student.)
