Get a attorney that specializes in Immigration law, immigration law
is a complicated specialty in law.
An attorney will walk you through the process. If you can, contact the US consulate or Embassy in your native country and ask to be referred to a laywer that specializes in immi law. I think it's easier to begin the process in a immigrant's country of origin. When you arrive, your uncle can help you financially and find you a lawyer since he's been through the process before. All in all, I heard the process takes 3-5 yrs. Make a copy of all the documents for your files and in case US immigration loses the paperwork, believe me it, happens. I was born in the US , I heard of it happening. Every major US city has an Immigration office in the downtown area.
Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He can help you by doing the leg work (making phone calls, asking questions, retrieving forms, and such) and by sponsoring you but his being an uncle will not help you. A naturalized American can bring direct relatives to the US as legal immigrants but that is generally interpreted as parents, spouse, and children (including children's children's children). Being an engineer is a plus for a green card (to work) as there are shortages of engineers in the US. Good luck on your quest.

Your uncle cannot petition for you; he could only petition for his parents, spouse, children or brothers and sisters.
The only other way to win US immigration is through employment, since Pakistan cannot use the DV lottery.

A relative in the US is an advantage since there will be someone who will finance the expenses of the applicant. Be able to get a gainful employment contract so that you could apply for a working visa.
