This verse in the bible means- Although you are the riches man on earth and you have everything with you, your wealth, money ,enjoying life happily with bad motives, have many wives and all everything which you want or what you desire will be abundant to you, you will receive no profit or gain in them if you will lost your soul in going to heaven to have eternal life with God.

Your riches will be nothing in heaven if you have committed all sins for your richness while living in this earth.

A man's life is defeat only. However he may be very expert in driving motorcar day and night, this way and that way, very busy man, but if he does not inquire about his self—"What I am? Wherefrom I have come? Where I have to go to? Why I am suffering? Why I am put to this disadvantageous position?"—when one does not inquire for all these things, then his activities are defeat, only defeat.
This body is perishable. But the proprietor of the body, that is eternal, the soul.
T his body is temporary. Why shall I be attached to the temporary things? I am the owner of the body, I am reality, so I must realize myself. Self-realization. This is self-realization, that "I am not this body, I am pure soul."

The whole world, yeah? And everything in it? Seems like a fairly good return on my investment, better than the lousy 3.1% I'm getting from Barclays. And they own me, body AND soul.

Our ' soul' is us, living, breathing.
Not a separate spiritual thing.
Adam was created a ' living soul'. He was not ' given' one.
'Soul' is translated from the hebrew word NEPHESH which means ' that which breathes'.
This cannot be applied to a spiritual setting.
(GENESIS 1:20) “And God went on to say: “Let the waters swarm forth a swarm of living souls and let flying creatures fly over the earth upon the face of the expanse of the heavens.””

Do fish have separate spiritual souls?
But they do LIVE.

He thinks it profits him to gain material worth and neglect his spiritual values.
If his soul and his spiritual priciples are neglected, his pockets will be empty upon death.
When life is over, physical wealth reamins in the world. He will be naked and without any spiritual support to give him peace.
